Summary
This study looks at whether the type of breathing machine setting used in the ICU affects how well patients recover. Researchers will switch the ventilator mode used in entire ICUs every two months and track survival and time off the machine. About 4,785 adults on breathing machines will take part. The goal is to find out which mode helps patients live longer and breathe on their own sooner.
