Doctors test ultrasound to 'See' ventilator breathing problems

NCT ID NCT07380607

Summary

This study aimed to see if an ultrasound scan of the diaphragm muscle could accurately detect a specific timing problem between a patient's breathing effort and their ventilator. Researchers observed 28 adult ICU patients who were on breathing machines and already had this problem. The goal was to gather knowledge to help doctors better monitor and care for critically ill patients on ventilators.
