New breathing technique tested to save lives after heart surgery

Summary

This study aims to find the best way to use a breathing machine during heart surgery to protect patients' lungs. It will compare two different pressure settings in 440 high-risk patients having heart surgery. The goal is to see which method better prevents serious lung problems and death in the first week after surgery.
