Summary

This study aims to find the best way to use a breathing machine during major heart surgery to protect patients' lungs. It compares two different machine settings in 440 high-risk patients to see which one better prevents serious lung problems and death after surgery. The goal is to improve recovery and safety for people undergoing these complex operations.
