New drug combo aims to boost transplant success in tough blood cancers
NCT ID NCT07183878
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 10, 2026 · Updated 33 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding venetoclax to the standard chemotherapy before a stem cell transplant can help people with high-risk acute myeloid leukemia (AML) or myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) stay cancer-free longer. About 138 patients aged 12 to 60 will be randomly assigned to receive either the new drug combo or the standard regimen. The goal is to see if the extra drug deepens remission and reduces the chance of the cancer coming back after transplant.
