Simple urine test may forecast brain tumor return after radiation

NCT ID NCT00083512

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 02, 2026 · Updated 36 times

Summary

This study looks at whether measuring two proteins (VEGF and MMP) in blood and urine can help predict if a glioblastoma brain tumor will come back within a year after radiation therapy. About 200 adults with this type of brain tumor will provide samples before, during, and after treatment, plus up to 3 years of follow-up. The goal is to develop a simple test that could guide future treatment decisions.
