Summary

This trial tests an experimental drug called VC004 for people with moderate-to-severe pain caused by cancer that has spread to the bones. About 26 adults will receive either a low or high dose of VC004 or a placebo capsule, and researchers will track changes in daily pain scores over time. The goal is to see whether VC004 is safe and whether it can reduce pain intensity.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
an experimental drug called VC004, taken as a capsule
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a new pain-relief option for people with cancer that has spread to their bones.
What could go wrong
This is an early, small trial testing safety and dosing — it is not yet known whether VC004 works better than a placebo. Possible side effects are still being identified.
