First seen Apr 22, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study tested if the antibiotic vancomycin could safely improve liver health in adults with primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC), a rare liver disease. About 102 participants were planned, but the trial was stopped early. The main goal was to see if vancomycin could lower alkaline phosphatase, a marker of liver damage, compared to a placebo.
