NCT ID NCT04116411

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding the anti-viral drug valganciclovir to standard treatment can help people with glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer, live longer. The drug targets cytomegalovirus (CMV), which is often found in these tumors and may make them more aggressive. About 220 newly diagnosed patients will receive either valganciclovir or a placebo alongside chemotherapy and radiation.
