Body implant tested to calm arthritis when drugs fail
NCT ID NCT07017686
Summary
This study is testing whether stimulating a nerve in the abdomen with an implanted device is safe for people with moderate-to-severe rheumatoid arthritis that hasn't improved with standard medications. Five participants will have the small device placed via keyhole surgery and use it daily for up to 24 weeks. Researchers will monitor safety, how well the device works, and whether it helps reduce arthritis symptoms over five years.
