First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study tests a new approach for women with frequent bacterial vaginosis (BV), a common vaginal infection that often returns after antibiotics. Instead of more drugs, researchers transplant healthy vaginal bacteria from donors into 10 women with recurrent BV. The goal is to restore the natural bacterial balance and achieve a lasting cure without the need for ongoing medication.
