New vaginal treatment tested to fight HPV in women with HIV
NCT ID NCT06519994
Summary
This study is testing whether a vaginal insert containing the drug artesunate can help clear HPV infection in women living with HIV who have recently received standard treatment for cervical precancer. 120 participants will use either the active insert or a placebo for several weeks to see if it improves their chances of clearing the virus. The main goal is to see if this extra treatment is safe, acceptable, and more effective than standard care alone at six months.
