New hope for dialysis patients: could a pill boost anemia treatment?
NCT ID NCT07537816
First seen Apr 30, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether adding the drug vadadustat to standard anemia treatment helps dialysis patients better control their anemia. About 40 adults on peritoneal dialysis will take vadadustat for 8 weeks and then switch to placebo (or vice versa), while continuing their usual medication. Researchers will measure changes in hemoglobin, quality of life, and inflammation to see if the combination works better than standard care alone.
