Brain tumor vaccine shows promise for kids who have run out of options

NCT ID NCT02358187

First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 26, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tests a vaccine made from proteins found on glioma cells, given with an immune booster, in children whose low-grade glioma has come back after at least two prior treatments. The goal is to see if the vaccine can shrink the tumor or stop it from growing. About 25 children who have a specific immune marker (HLA-A2) will receive up to 8 initial vaccines, and those who respond well may continue for up to two years.
