Summary

This study tests whether shining a special UVC light on the surgical wound during brain surgery can prevent infections. 75 people with hydrocephalus having a shunt placed will be randomly assigned to receive real UVC light or a sham light. Researchers will check wound samples for bacteria and monitor for side effects.
