Summary
This study tested whether shining a specific type of ultraviolet (UV) light inside the mouth could help treat painful sores and symptoms caused by chronic graft-versus-host disease (cGVHD). cGVHD is a common complication after a bone marrow or stem cell transplant where the donor cells attack the patient's body. Eleven participants received the light therapy 2-3 times per week to see if it improved their mouth symptoms and quality of life.
