New surgical trick may cut blood loss in fibroid removal

Summary
This study tests whether temporarily blocking the blood supply to the uterus and ovaries during minimally invasive fibroid surgery can reduce blood loss. About 120 women with large or numerous fibroids will be randomly assigned to receive the extra vessel-blocking step or standard surgery. The goal is to make the procedure safer by lowering the risk of heavy bleeding.
