Womb transplants: a new way to give birth?
NCT ID NCT02656550
First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study is for women aged 20-35 who were born without a uterus or had it removed, but still have working ovaries. Doctors will transplant a uterus from a living or deceased donor, then use IVF to help the woman get pregnant. The goal is a live birth via C-section, but recipients must take anti-rejection drugs for life, so this is a disease-control approach, not a cure.
