New study aims to find best way to stop bleeding during fibroid surgery

NCT ID NCT07525687

First seen Apr 16, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study will compare two methods to control blood loss during laparoscopic myomectomy (keyhole surgery to remove uterine fibroids). One method uses a temporary tourniquet to block blood flow, and the other injects a medicine (epinephrine) into the uterus to narrow blood vessels. The goal is to see which approach works better and is safer. The trial plans to enroll 37 women aged 18-45 with up to 3 fibroids.
