Fibroid location linked to uterine blood flow changes

NCT ID NCT07186257

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study looked at 185 premenopausal women to see if the location of uterine fibroids changes blood flow in the uterine artery. Researchers used ultrasound to measure blood flow and found that fibroids inside the uterine muscle (intramural) lowered resistance, while those under the lining (submucous) had higher resistance. The goal was to better understand how fibroid location affects blood flow, not to test a treatment.
