Fibroid location linked to uterine blood flow changes

NCT ID NCT07186257

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study looked at how the location of uterine fibroids (non-cancerous growths in the womb) affects blood flow in the uterine artery. Researchers studied 185 premenopausal women using ultrasound. They found that fibroids located inside the uterine muscle (intramural) were linked to lower blood flow resistance, while those near the inner lining (submucosal) showed higher resistance. The findings help understand how fibroid location may influence symptoms and treatment.
