Pee test could spare millions from painful cancer scopes

Summary
This study explores whether a urine DNA test can safely replace many invasive cystoscopies (a scope inserted into the bladder) when checking for bladder cancer. Currently, only 1 in 10 people with blood in their urine actually have cancer, yet nearly all undergo the uncomfortable scope procedure. Researchers will collect urine samples from 3,000 participants by mail and compare the test's accuracy to standard cystoscopy results, aiming to reduce unnecessary procedures and healthcare costs.
