Routine urine test before bladder surgery may be unnecessary, new trial suggests

Summary
This study looks at whether skipping a routine urine culture before bladder tumor surgery is just as safe as doing one. The goal is to see if it leads to more post-surgery fevers or infections. About 2,600 adults scheduled for bladder tumor surgery will take part, and researchers will track infections for 30 days after the procedure.
