Throat ultrasound may predict breathing tube success
NCT ID NCT07580742
First seen May 13, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study looks at whether an ultrasound of the upper airway can help doctors decide when it's safe to remove a breathing tube from patients on a ventilator. Researchers will measure the width of the airway in 60 stable adult patients and compare it to the usual methods. The goal is to see if this simple, non-invasive test can better predict who will breathe well on their own.
