First seen Apr 29, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tests whether upadacitinib, a newer pill, works as well as standard steroid injections for people hospitalized with severe ulcerative colitis. About 46 adults will take either upadacitinib or steroids for 3 months, with frequent checkups to track symptoms and side effects. The goal is to see if upadacitinib can quickly calm the disease without the long-term risks of steroids.
