NCT ID NCT07546097

First seen Apr 29, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study compares upadacitinib, a newer oral medication, to standard corticosteroid injections for treating sudden, severe flare-ups of ulcerative colitis. About 46 adults with acute severe UC will receive either upadacitinib pills or steroid injections for 3 months, with regular checkups and tests. The goal is to see if upadacitinib can safely control symptoms and induce remission as effectively as steroids.
