Brain scans aim to unlock mystery pain in rare bone disease

NCT ID NCT04125862

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study looked at 37 people with Fibrous Dysplasia/McCune-Albright Syndrome to understand why they feel pain, even when tests show little damage. Researchers used brain scans and pain questionnaires to compare those with and without pain. The goal was to learn more about what causes the pain, not to test a new treatment.
