Tiny study probes belly Veins' role in rare blood pressure puzzle

NCT ID NCT02726711

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study looks at how the body's automatic nervous system controls blood flow in the veins of the abdomen, and how this might contribute to high blood pressure in people with a rare condition called Multiple System Atrophy. About 16 participants will undergo tests to measure vein function. The goal is to better understand the disease, not to test a new treatment.
