First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 08, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study works with epilepsy patients who are already having brain surgery to place tiny, temporary electrodes on the brain's surface. Researchers will measure brain activity while patients do tasks like speaking or remembering, and also during sleep. The goal is to better understand how epilepsy affects thinking and to find better ways to detect seizures. No new treatment is being tested.
