This study follows 1,000 mothers and their newborns in Botswana to understand how antibiotic-resistant bacteria are passed from mother to baby around the time of birth. Researchers will track these germs over time to learn how they spread, with the goal of finding better ways to prevent infections in the future. Participants are mothers admitted to the hospital before delivery.
