Ultrasound may spot hidden blood loss after C-Section days before blood tests

NCT ID NCT06963047

First seen Apr 14, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tests whether using ultrasound after a C-section can detect dangerous blood loss and anemia earlier than standard blood tests. About 276 women who had a C-section will be randomly assigned to get either an ultrasound or usual care. The goal is to see if ultrasound can catch problems sooner, helping doctors treat mothers faster and improve recovery.
