Could a quick scan make epidurals safer for labor?
NCT ID NCT07056166
Summary
This study aims to find out if a simple ultrasound scan of a pregnant woman's lower back can help predict how difficult it will be to place an epidural for pain relief during labor. Researchers will observe 563 women who request an epidural, taking ultrasound measurements and noting their physical characteristics. The goal is to identify markers that could help doctors prepare for and perform the procedure more safely and efficiently.
