Could a quick scan make surgery safer?

NCT ID NCT07383610

Summary

This study tested if a simple ultrasound scan of the neck before surgery could help doctors predict which patients might be difficult to place a breathing tube into. Researchers scanned 400 adults having planned surgery to see if measurements of throat structures were linked to these difficulties. The goal is to give doctors a better tool to plan for and avoid airway complications during anesthesia.
