Can ultrasound make acupuncture more precise for shoulder pain?
NCT ID NCT06222710
Summary
This small pilot study tested whether using an ultrasound machine to guide a special type of acupuncture is better for treating chronic shoulder tendon pain. Forty adults with shoulder pain lasting over a month received either ultrasound-guided injections of herbal medicine or standard injections based on touch. The goal was to see if the ultrasound-guided method was more accurate and effective at reducing pain and improving shoulder movement over six weeks of treatment.
