Needle precision: can ultrasound make acupuncture more effective for shoulder pain?

NCT ID NCT06222710

Summary

This small pilot study tested whether using an ultrasound machine to guide acupuncture injections improves treatment for chronic shoulder tendon pain. Forty adults with shoulder pain lasting over a month received either standard acupuncture or acupuncture guided by ultrasound images. The goal was to see if the ultrasound-guided method was more accurate and led to better pain relief and shoulder function.
