New ultrasound technique may help surgeons find hidden pituitary tumors

NCT ID NCT07335315

First seen Jan 16, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study is testing whether a special ultrasound done during surgery can help doctors better identify pituitary adenomas, especially in people with Cushing's disease. About 110 participants will have their tumors scanned with contrast-enhanced ultrasound, and the images will be compared to standard MRI scans. The goal is to see if this approach helps surgeons remove only the tumor while sparing healthy tissue.
