Ultrasound could Fine-Tune spinal stimulation for paralysis recovery

NCT ID NCT07206797

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tests whether ultrasound can accurately measure muscle activity caused by two types of stimulation: spinal cord stimulation and functional electrical stimulation. Researchers will compare ankle torque and ultrasound images in 30 healthy adults. The goal is to see if ultrasound can replace more invasive methods to guide future rehabilitation for people with spinal cord injury.
