Scientists test painless brain ultrasound to fight depression
NCT ID NCT05147142
Summary
This study is testing whether a new, non-invasive brain stimulation technique called low-intensity focused ultrasound (LIFU) can safely change brain activity in areas linked to depression and anxiety. Researchers are enrolling 25 veterans with depression to see if LIFU can reduce activity in specific brain regions. The main goals are to check the safety of the procedure and see if it's feasible to use alongside brain imaging.
