Sound waves could supercharge chemo against tough pancreatic cancer

NCT ID NCT04821284

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests a new method called sonoporation, which uses ultrasound and tiny gas bubbles to help chemotherapy drugs get into cancer cells more effectively. About 120 adults with advanced pancreatic cancer will receive either standard chemotherapy alone or chemotherapy plus sonoporation. The goal is to see if the combination can slow cancer growth and help patients tolerate more treatment cycles.
