Doctors scan for hidden clues in critically ill mothers
NCT ID NCT06728722
Summary
This study aims to understand how the bodies of critically ill pregnant women or those with gynecological diseases change during their illness. Researchers will use portable ultrasound machines to measure muscle loss, fat changes, and fluid buildup at the patient's bedside. They want to see if these body changes can predict which patients are more likely to have worse outcomes, like needing a ventilator or a longer hospital stay.
