First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study tested whether a technique called ultrafiltration—which removes extra water from the blood—helps blood clotting after heart-lung machine use. 39 adults having heart valve surgery took part. Researchers measured clotting before and after the fluid removal. The goal was to see if this simple step could reduce bleeding risk.
