First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study tested whether a technique called ultrafiltration, which removes extra fluid before taking patients off the heart-lung machine, changes blood clotting in people having heart valve surgery. 39 adults were included. The goal was to see if this fluid removal helps or harms the body's ability to form clots after surgery.
