Scientists test 'Allergy Shot' approach to stop body attacking itself in diabetes
NCT ID NCT04590872
Summary
This early-stage study is testing the safety of a personalized vaccine made from a patient's own immune cells. The goal is to teach the immune system to stop attacking the insulin-producing cells in the pancreas. Six adults with recently diagnosed type 1 diabetes will receive the vaccine to see if it is safe and if it might help preserve the body's ability to make some insulin.
