Could a simple injection stop diabetes before it starts?

NCT ID NCT05683990

Summary

This study is testing whether an experimental drug called Diamyd, injected directly into a lymph node, is safe and can prevent or delay the onset of type 1 diabetes. It involves 16 children and teenagers (ages 8-18) who have specific genetic and immune markers putting them at high risk for the disease. Researchers will monitor participants for one year to see if the injections slow or stop the progression to full-blown diabetes.
