New study tests drug to cut bleeding in Kids' spine surgery

Summary
This study tests if tranexamic acid (TXA), a drug that helps blood clot, can reduce blood loss during scoliosis surgery in children aged 10 to 18. About 90 kids will be randomly assigned to receive TXA in one of two ways or a placebo (saline). The main goal is to see if TXA lowers the amount of blood lost and the need for blood transfusions. Safety will also be monitored for up to 30 days after surgery.
