Summary

This study tested whether a two-antibiotic treatment is as effective as the standard three-antibiotic treatment for a chronic lung infection called Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC). It involved 474 adults with the infection and aimed to see if using fewer drugs could reduce difficult side effects like nausea and fatigue while still controlling the disease. The goal was to find a more tolerable treatment plan that patients are more likely to stick with.
