Summary
This study aimed to find out if a simpler, two-antibiotic treatment is as effective as the standard three-antibiotic regimen for a chronic lung infection called MAC. Researchers enrolled 474 adults with the infection to see if using fewer drugs could reduce common and sometimes severe side effects—like nausea, hearing loss, and fatigue—without losing the ability to clear the infection. The goal was to make long-term treatment more tolerable for patients.
