Spicing up recovery: can turmeric and pepper help heal a damaged heart?
NCT ID NCT07149961
Summary
This study tested whether a daily supplement containing curcumin (from turmeric) and piperine (from black pepper) could help people recover after a major heart attack. Fifty patients who received standard emergency treatment were given either the supplement or a placebo pill for 28 days. Researchers measured markers of inflammation and stress in the blood to see if the natural supplement provided extra benefits on top of regular heart medications.
