Dentists' focus blind spots under study
NCT ID NCT07266909
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study looks at a common thinking trap called the 'tunnel effect,' where dentists focus so much on one detail that they miss the bigger picture, which can lead to mistakes. Researchers will survey 160 French dental professionals—from students to experienced surgeons—to find out how much they know about this bias and what raises the risk. No treatments or procedures are tested; the goal is simply to gather information to improve awareness and training.
