Tulip-shaped airway device may lower reflux risk during surgery

NCT ID NCT06527352

First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study looked at 72 adults having surgery under general anesthesia to compare two types of airway devices: a classic glottis mask airway (GMA) and a tulip-shaped GMA. The goal was to see which one leads to less stomach acid backing up into the throat during ventilation. Researchers measured the acid level in secretions on the device tip at the end of surgery.
